Tagline: "And the Best Picture of all time goes to…"

"Who Will Win, in the most competitive Oscars to date?"

Synopsis: When the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announces that they will allow re-releases of films to be nominated for Academy Awards, the Motion Picture industry is turned upside down.

John Rocktenburger is in charge of Worldly Studios, one of the biggest film studios in film history and has released many classics including Off the Landfront, The Undergraduate, and Calming Ram. John’s brilliant plan is to re-release all of these films so that Worldly Studios will rule the Oscars this year after mostly flops for the past few years.

Ashley Andersen is the CEO of Superstar Productions one of the most underappreciated studios in Hollywood history and although they have had critical success lately, it seems that they never receive praise from the Academy. Thanks to her assistant, Veronica Player, who informs her about the rule change, she plans on re-releasing all of the studio’s gems in order to finally get love from the Oscars.

Jeffrey Christopher is Head of MirrorMinor pictures who are known for their extensive Oscar campaigns. But while he and his assistant Linda Rugger are busy having her “assist” him, he doesn’t even realize that the AMPAS has changed their rule so he just continues to release the crap films he has planned because he believes that his campaigns will earn his studio yet another Best Picture Oscar.

So when these 3 studios go up and compete with each other the infamous Oscar predictors Chuck and Cindy are always creating the buzz and overhyping certain films. So when the nominations are announced which of the classic movies will be nominated and will any new films get it. The 2009 Oscar would always be known as The Ultimate Oscars.

What the Press would say:

All I can say is the Funniest Film of the Year. Christopher Guest has done it again and has crafted a comedic masterpiece worthy of the highest praise. Eugene Levy is hilarious as the studio head John Rocktenburger and is really good as the crazy CEO. Catherine O’Hara is once again fantastic as the kooky Ashley Andersen and gives one of her best performances. There is really nothing more I can say about the tremendous cast and all of them deserve recognition in the Best Ensemble category at the SAG awards because there are not enough categories at the Oscars, Golden Globe and SAG’s to give everyone a nomination and none should be singled out. Guest and Levy have created another great script that let their actors roam all over the place and put them in completely side-splitting comedic situations. The best picture of the year that needs to be recognized at every awards ceremony!
